It is my pleasure to announce the January Elite Braves. Elite Braves demonstrate excellent behavior in and out of the classroom, are well mannered, and respectful to both peers and teachers. These students have been selected by teachers, administrators, and guidance counselors for being exemplary.

Starting January 9th 2023 Iroquois Junior/Senior High School breakfast will start at 7:22 am and will be moving to the cafeteria. We will have two lines open with a variety of homestyle cooked breakfast options and our daily alternates. Homestyle cooked breakfast options will include, but not limited to, Dutch waffles, French toast sticks, scrambled eggs w/ toast, fresh pancakes, or fresh waffles. Daily alternate items may include hot breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, assorted hot and cold pastries, parfaits, cereal bars, or cereal. These new items must be eaten in the cafeteria. Come join us to get a good start to your day by enjoying a fulfilling breakfast!

Lady Braves capture a road win over Commodore Perry 33-30. The ladies are 3-4 on the season. Grace Abele lead the team with a career high 14 points.
Harborcreek wrestling took part in the Sharpsville Duals today. The team finished with a record of 4-1. Individually the Iroquois boys contributed much to the teams success. Sam Kightlinger 5 - 0, Hunter Chew 5 - 0, Matt Kuchinski 3 - 2, Nick Fisher 2 - 3, Hunter Zemp 2 - 3, Maddox Brown 1 - 4.
Parents and guardians: Iroquois High School has experienced roof damage due to the high winds. Classes on the second floor of the junior high have been moved to other locations. All students are safe and repair crews are on the scene. Dismissal will occur at the normal time.

The Iroquois Brave's Speech and Debate team attended their first event at Mercer High School, Thursday night. Team president Isabel Moser led the team with an outstanding performance while competing in the Oral Interpretation category. The team is looking forward to a very successful season and to our next event on January 5th, at McDowell High School. Any Junior or Senior High School students interested in discovering what Speech and Debate is all about can stop by Mr. Hammond's room 254 every Monday, right after school!

The JV boys basketball team finished 1st at Union City this past weekend. The boys took down Union City 42-28 on day 1 and then took care of business on Day 2 with a 38-29 victory. Great work!
Ben Burkhardt was selected to the All Tournament team in Union City this past weekend. Ben lead the Braves offense to a 3rd place finish. The boys are 1-1 on the season.
Sam Kightlinger and Hunter Chew both took 3rd in their weight classes in Hickory this past weekend. The boys wrestled through two days of fierce competition from all over District 10. Congratulations boys!
Alena Krysiak was selected to the all tournament team at the Elks Tip Off Tournament in Franklin. Coach DeSantis said that her defensive effort surprised and impressed the opposing coaches. Great work Alena!
