Our 9/11 day of service kicked off this morning with a whole school assembly with our AFJROTC posting colors, Piper singing a beautiful rendition of the national anthem, Mr. Zimmerman and Mr. K sharing their stories, and Mr. Ferruggia imparting historical knowledge. We can't wait to show the community what we're about today- service, kindness, and family.

Students in Mr. Soviskys AP Psychology class put their creativity and sweet tooth to the test by constructing model neurons and demonstrating the basics of neurotransmission using candy. By turning a complex concept into a hands-on edible project, students were able to better visualize how information travels in the brain and body.

This year our Character Matters' words are being presented by our Seniors. Our senior, Ashlynn Fisher, presented the word “Energy” last week to the team. The concept of “good energy” in a person typically refers to a positive, uplifting, vibrant presence. Energy can be positive or negative, but it’s always contagious to those around them.

The varsity award recipient for “Energy” is Rylee King. Rylee possesses a consistent positive energy on and off the court. You can always count on her to encourage her teammates and have a smile on her face. She focuses on improving each play rather than dwelling on past mistakes. She is a team leader, and her positive energy was infectious during the Seneca match and ignited the team to come back from behind for the win!

The JV player who has demonstrated the “ENERGY” we are looking for as a leader is Abigail Whitney. Abby is always communicating with her teammates. She is inspiring, motivating, uplifting, and encouraging while working hard to not only achieve her personal goals, but to enhance and exceed the common goals of her team.

Congratulations!

Attention parents of graduating seniors! Each graduating senior will receive 14 tickets in total tomorrow at practice. All 14 of these tickets can be used outside in the stadium if the ceremony is held there. However, only the 4 white-colored tickets can be used indoors if the ceremony has to be moved due to the weather. This is due to seating and space within the auditorium. The tickets are marked with what can be used where. Congratulations, Class of 2025.

Today, Tuesday, May 27th at 6:00 pm, we will be parading around town (and making lots of noise) to deliver senior signs and celebrate the Class of 2025. Some of our Iroquois staff will be driving around the community with lots of cheering and horns blowing to show our excitement and support for our graduating seniors. If you hear or see this, step out on your porch or yard and help us celebrate them.
