Today IES was thrilled to celebrate the academic success of close to 50 students who completed an intervention program in either ELA or Math! Our Interventionists and AmeriCorps Members hosted the event which featured a taco bar provided by The Nutrition Group. Way to go IES students!

Attention 3rd grade families! We are so excited for our 3rd grade students to showcase their hard work this evening with a presentation of “On with the Snow.” Doors open at 5:45 for both parents and families! We can’t wait to see you here tonight! They were able to give our PreK through 2nd grade students a preview in school today and did a wonderful job!

On with the Snow the Musical will be presented by the 3rd graders at Iroquois Elementary on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 6:00PM in the IES gymnasium. This is a free event. The students are looking forward to presenting this fun show for their families! Highlights from the production include a bigfoot sighting, rapping shovelers, and all our talented third grade students who still have warm hearts, even though the temperatures are cold. Iroquois Alumus Dr. Theresa Guise and European Space Agency Scientist Dr. Peter de Maagt spent the day with Mr. MacKelvey's 4th Grade Mathematics and Science classes over Zoom sharing their insight on sharks and tracking them through satellite pings. Dr. Guise even stated, 'We virtually visited this special class of 4th graders who are learning about sharks and following tagged sharks online. These kids are super enthusiastic about shark conservation thanks to their teacher, Mr. MacKelvey, also a diver and ocean lover. The kids knew so much about sharks-We were so impressed! These kids and their teacher are our future and our path to save the ocean. Keep up the great work, Mr. MacKelvey!'

Admission and select events are free with opportunities to support the IHS Cheerleaders through a few paid activities. This is a family event and students are required to attend with parent. Night at the North Pole is returning to IES on Saturday, December 17th from 6-8PM in the elementary school gym and cafeteria. Join us for an enchanting evening of fun complete with bounce houses, photobooths and opportunities to support the IHS cheerleaders through a few paid activities. Admission to the event is free and open to all students accompanied by their families in Pre-K through 6th grade. Attention IES Families: As a reminder, the Winter Arts Showcase featuring the 5th and 6th grade band and chorus students will be tomorrow, December 15th at 6PM in the IES gym. 5th and 6th grade performers are asked to arrive at 5:30. Join us for an evening filled with Winter songs and a band "informance" to warm hearts during this Holiday Season.
