Dear 6th Grade Families,

As we approach the end of the school year, we are excited to celebrate an important milestone for our students, their promotion to the Jr./Sr. High School. After thoughtful feedback from both staff and families, we have decided to return to a single, formal promotion ceremony to better honor and celebrate our 6th grade students. We believe this format allows us to recognize their accomplishments in a meaningful and memorable way.

The promotion ceremony will take place on Friday, June 5th, beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m. and concluding at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the elementary school gymnasium. Families are welcome to take their child home following the ceremony, although this is not required. Due to space limitations, each student may invite up to two outside guests. We understand that many loved ones may wish to attend; however, we must adhere to these limits to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all. Siblings who are current students at IES will be included in the ceremony. To help create a special and respectful atmosphere, we ask that students dress in spring attire that is neat, polished, and appropriate for a school celebration, festive, but not overly formal.

We are incredibly proud of our 6th grade class. They have grown so much during their time with us, and while we will truly miss them, we are excited to see all they will accomplish in the next chapter of their educational journey. This ceremony is a special opportunity for us to formally recognize their hard work, celebrate their achievements, and send them off with our very best wishes.

Additional details will be shared in the coming weeks, but we wanted to provide this information now so families can begin planning accordingly. If you have any questions, please contact the IES office at 814-899-7643 ext. 2000. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to celebrating with you.
