Dear Iroquois Elementary Families,
At Iroquois Elementary, Big Ideas Begin Here, and one of the most important ideas we believe in is the strong partnership between school and home. We are excited to invite you to join us for our Parent–Teacher Conferences on Monday, March 30. Conferences will take place from 10:00 AM to 5:45 PM, scheduled in 15-minute increments, and we truly look forward to connecting with you about the amazing work your children are doing.
Parent–Teacher Conferences are one of the most meaningful opportunities we have to work together as partners in your child’s education. During your conference, teachers will share updates about your child’s academic progress, celebrate their strengths, and talk about the growth we are seeing both inside and outside the classroom. These conversations also allow families to ask questions, share insights about their child, and collaborate with teachers about ways we can continue supporting each student’s success. In true Leader in Me fashion, conferences are a wonderful example of Habit 6: Synergize: when families and schools work together, great things happen for kids.
To schedule your conference, please visit https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/IES or simply scan the QR code on the conference flyer. Signing up online is quick and easy, and it helps us make sure every family has the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher. Conferences can happen in person, over the phone, or via Zoom.
To help conferences run smoothly for everyone, we ask that families sign up for their child’s homeroom teacher only. For our departmentalized grades (3rd grade and up), the homeroom teacher will have information about your child’s progress in all subject areas, so one conference will cover everything you need to know. If your child receives services from a special education teacher, you may also schedule time with that teacher. If you would like to meet with an additional teacher for any reason, please contact the school office, and we will gladly help coordinate that for you. Because conference time is limited and many families are participating, we kindly ask that you sign up for only one time slot per child and help us stay on schedule so everyone has the chance to meet with their teacher.
While you are here for conferences, I strongly encourage you to stop by the IES Art Show in the cafeteria made possible by Mrs. Leslie! This is honestly one of my favorite events of the entire school year! Every student in the building will have a beautifully framed piece of artwork on display, and families are invited to take their child’s framed masterpiece home after viewing the gallery. Our students put so much creativity and heart into their artwork, and it’s always incredible to see the cafeteria transformed into a celebration of their talents. It’s a great opportunity to slow down, admire their work, and celebrate the many ways our students shine.
A quick reminder about the schedule for that day: school will still be in session for our Pre-K students, but students in grades K–6 will have a non-attendance day due to conferences.
Thank you for continuing to be such supportive partners in your child’s education. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference in the success of our students and the strength of our school community. At Iroquois Elementary, we truly believe that when families, teachers, and students work together, big ideas grow into big accomplishments. We can’t wait to see you on March 30 for conferences and to celebrate our students’ creativity at the Art Show!
