In an effort to bring our students together as #ONEFAMILY, we've implemented Braves Buddies at IES. Our Brave Buddies program pairs each older student with a younger student for the duration of the school year. As part of our Halloween celebration, our older Braves were challenged to come up with a meaningful activity to complete with their Brave Buddy, and they provided their young Brave with a hand-written letter. We look forward to the continued collaboration that Brave Buddies will foster throughout the rest of the school year.

Good morning IES families. Due to the current rain and forecasted weather for this morning, we will be unable to host our outdoor red carpet runway costume show. We will instead film a parade that will be sent out for families to view later tonight. We hope next year the weather cooperates and we are able to host a very fun outdoor event for families! Hello IES families! Trunk or Treat is about to begin! Please join us in the IES parking lot for a night of fun. The event will run from 6:00-7:30! We hope to see you here!

Over the course of Red Ribbon Week, homerooms were encouraged to decorate their doors showcasing the choice to remain drug free. Classrooms will vote for their favorite door(s) and a winner will be announced in an upcoming post. Here is a preview of a few of the doors. Nice work IES classrooms!

Wednesday, for Red Ribbon Week, students were encouraged to show responsibility by organizing their desks or lockers in preparation for a visit from the Desk Fairy. We wanted to share just a few of the students who worked hard to show their responsibility and organization. Well done!

Students in Mr. Trapp’s 3rd grade class spent time investigating pumpkins today. They focused on comparing mass of pumpkins, estimating and taking measurements, estimating and counting the number of seeds, and predicting if they will sink or float. The Science process was in full swing in 3rd grade today!

Good morning IES families! I wanted to send out a correction about Trunk or Treat next Thurs. 10/28! The time changed to begin at 6:00 and end at 7:30 in an effort to make sure our volunteers have ample time between work and the event to create a great experience for our students. Thank you!

Attention IES families! We hope you are able to join us next Thursday, October 28 from 5:30-7:00 PM here at IES. We have many community partners, faculty, staff, community volunteers who will be here to provide our students with a fun evening. We can't wait to see you!

Hello IES supporters! Due to the national shortage of commercial truck drivers, our fundraiser pick up day must be rescheduled. At this time, we do not have a new delivery date, but we will let you know as soon as we are provided the information. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Third grade students had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Tarasovitch, Director from the Erie County Technical School, about career training opportunities that are offered at ECTS. Thank you to Mr. Tarasovitch and Mrs. Sorensen for coming to provide career coloring books to our students.
